Landscape Architecture Accreditation
Iowa State's undergraduate Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) degree program is nationally accredited by the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The BLA program received a full six-year accreditation in 2007 and will be reviewed again in 2013-14.
The ISU landscape architecture program also offers a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) degree to students who hold an undergraduate professional degree in a design field. The department recently redeveloped its master's degree programs to create a first-professional MLA—which was granted candidacy status in 2011 and for which we are seeking full accreditation in 2013-14—as well as a Master of Science in Landscape Architecture (MSLA) as a research or post-professional degree. Both new degree programs were approved by the university in 2010.
