Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development
A primary focus of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development (VPR/ED) is to serve faculty and staff conducting research at Iowa State University. VPR/ED supports ongoing research in areas of strategic importance to Iowa State, fosters new initiatives and guides technology commercialization. The office works with faculty to establish collaborative research programs and centers, both at Iowa State and with other research institutions. And it provides an array of administrative services and infrastructure to help researchers secure federal, state and private funding.
Internal funding opportunities through VPR/ED include the Bailey Research Career Development Award, Publication Subvention Grants Program, and resources such as cost-sharing funds for graduate research assistantships and matching funds for equipment proposals, among others.
